Dear Supporter:

“Excellence” is not just an ambition for our nation’s top students and most gifted individuals. Rather, I believe it is our most needy and challenged young people who deserve the very best educational resources available so that they have every possible opportunity to thrive as individuals and make a contribution to society.

The Child Development Center (CDC) is a private, 501(c) 3 nonprofit special education school, approved by the NJ Department of Education, for children between the ages of 5 – 18 with behavioral and learning disabilities.  This year we are celebrating our 35th year of not only serving, but changing the lives of, thousands of disabled youngsters through a comprehensive program of therapeutic and educational interventions.

On November 5th, 2008 we are hosting a “Thanks-for-Giving” Gala, marking a milestone of having helped nearly 3,000 children and adolescents during the past 35 years.  Many of the youngsters who have come through our doors are survivors of extremely dysfunctional and destructive life histories resulting in debilitating psychological conditions.  We are proud to say that over 90% of our students have successfully returned to their public schools, gone on for vocational training, into the work force, or continued with their post-secondary studies.

We invite you to partner with us by joining us that evening at The Crystal Plaza, located in Livingston, NJ by making a donation to our school.  Your valuable support will allow us to continue our important work in helping our students reach their full potential and return to their local school districts with enhanced self-esteem and newfound abilities and knowledge.  As we all know, “it takes a village.”  I hope you can help us in helping our students and their families.  Their gratitude is immeasurable and so is ours.

Sincerely,
